HEALTH & SAFETY OFFICER - PSDP - ENGINEERING CONSULTANCY - IRELAND
JOB DESCRIPTION
Our client is a multi-disciplined international engineering
consultancy, currently undergoing rapid growth in Ireland
They are seeking Health & Safety Officers for projects nationwide from
offices based in Dublin, Galway and Cork
Fulfilling the duties of the PSDP and acting as Health & Safety
Coordinator for the Design Process as outlined in the Safety Health
and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations **Apply on the

Project management of PSDP projects including Client management,
coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and
scope.
Provision of guidance on legislative compliance and industry best
practice.
Provision of relevant technical support and leadership to clients and
designers.
Production of project related Health & Safety documentation and
reports including Preliminary Safety and Health Plans and Safety
Files.
Management of occupational health and safety requirements of a large
engineering consultancy firm.
REQUIREMENTS
Degree Engineering or related design discipline with recognised Health
& Safety training i.e., Diploma/Degree or equivalent in Health &
Safety (ideally in Construction Health & Safety)
Chartered Member of Engineers Ireland, IOSH or similar OR working
towards chartered member status of a professional body such as
Institution of Occupational Safety and Health , Engineers
Ireland or Institute of Civil Engineers
Expert knowledge of construction Health & Safety Regulations and
associated practices & procedures.
Ability to act as a competent PSDP within the meaning of the Safety,
Health & Welfare Act * and Safety, Health and
Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations *
Min 8 years of experience in building or civil engineering
infrastructure works including safety management as well as the
management of the role of Project Supervisor Design Process and/or
Project Supervisor Construction Stage (or similar).
Experience of working with OHSAS * / ISO
* or similar safety system
Experience in the preparation and review of Risk Assessments, Design
Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work and Safety & Health plans.
Excellent IT skills, familiar with relevant computer applications (MS
Word and MS Excel in particular).
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
